Beg at crown, ch 4. Join with sl st to first ch to form a ring.

1st rnd: Ch 2. 8 hdc in ring. Join.

2nd rnd: Ch 2. 2 hdc in each hdc around. Join. 16 hdc.

3rd rnd: Ch 2. (2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in next hdc) 8 times. Join. 24 hdc.

4th rnd: Ch 2. (2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 2 hdc) 8 times. Join. 32 hdc.

5th rnd: Ch 2. (2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 3 hdc) 8 times. Join. 40 hdc.

Ch 82. Coil into a Swirl and following photo as a guide, sew in place.

1st row: (WS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch to end to Hat Base. Turn. 81 sc.

2nd row: Ch 4 (counts as tr). 1 tr in first sc. *1 tr in next sc. 2 tr in next sc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn. 122 tr.

3rd row: Ch 4. 1 tr in first tr. 1 tr in each tr to last tr. 2 tr in last tr. Turn. 124 tr.

5th row: Working from left to right instead of from right to left as usual, work 1 reverse sc in each tr to end of row. Fasten off.
